The moral problem in an immoral society

If in the branch of sciences, human geocentrism was abandoned three centuries ago during the life of Sir Isaac Newton then in the sphere of morality it still persists today. For me it is a clear fact that mankind has made a fetish from the object of the human species. Even if today there is no an inquisition of thought like that who burned Giordano Bruno for his thesis about an infinite number of worlds populated by intelligent beings ("About the infinity of universes and worlds", 1584) yet we are predisposed to maintain geocentric attitudes about human value. In a more clarifying language, granting your own qualities and characteristics that you do not possess or are vaguely observed produces the problem of human morality. In ethical terms, the human species is probably the most vainglorious link of the living world on Earth, granting qualities and an unconditional preferential status. In pragmatic terms, the problem of morality lies in the dissension between what people are and what they think they are.

Viewed from the cosmos, our planet with the entire human world that hosts it is only a cell in the trillions that make up the cosmic body. At the cosmic scale, the whole of humanity is less than a few microbes in a tube in a medical laboratory. All our technology, all the scientific discoveries, all the technological revolutions, all our cultural advances are worth nothing in relation to the greatness of this universe. I say all this because being aware of how small we are in this universe could be the first step in understanding why our society is immoral but is declared moral.

In psychological terms, the human being prides itself on a rational faculty unique to other species on Earth. A well-established opinion would be that man is that being who controls his subconscious and can make conscious choices. This assumption is normally wrong, modern humans continue to act mentally with the subconscious that controls them from heartbeat to cognitive activity as with other mammals. In other words, the human intellect is not so logical and different from that of other species. Consequently, psychological manipulation and psychological induction are flourishing phenomena in the social environment. Our society can not become ideal and moral respectively without getting rid of those programs out of the subconscious like the egocentric struggle for survival and deliberate opportunism. Of course, human society is stubborn and does not want to admit or even acknowledge that it works on the basis of norms and human relations, both of which immoral. This fact can be observed through a careful analysis of welfare and social equity policies. We are all familiar with those social actions to fight poverty, defend rights, raise the standard of living, fight against vices, promote a healthy way of life and countless other aspects; all these have something in common: moral premises are declared either for a certain social group / groups, or for society as a whole, or for another auxiliary part, as if the declared moral nature of these social initiatives is already a justification of their necessity in building to a moral society. The problem of these measures of forming an ethical social partnership is trying to promote a moral behavior but to promote a moral behavior it is not synonymous with creating a moral behavior. A moral society will be never built by the sumptuous display of values ​​but it will always fail in a pretended and immoral society. Morality is only gained when it exists for real, at the social or individual level. What the human spirit does not understand is that morality does not have to be an amount of qualities displayed in the public and to the delight of the public. No such thing is required, morality must be known in depth and cultivated in one's own mental field because each one will be part, later, of that much coveted utopia of ethics or none of them.
